Title:
CALCULATION SUPPORT TYPE MOVEMENT ESTIMATION METHOD FOR PIXELS OF IMAGES SUCCESSIVELY CONTINUOUS IN TERMS OF TIME IN VIDEO SEQUENCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3537616
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assign a correct motion vector to every pixel by carrying out a dynamic programming operation for every pixel based on the cost functions and assigning the detected motion vector to the pixels.
SOLUTION: The next method step is interactively carried out to every image of a video sequence in step 71 and also to every scan line S of images in step 72. In step 73, the next method step is carried out to every pixel existing on the line S, and the cost functions Tn (d1, d2) are detected in step 74. In step 75, a DP method is carried out against the pixels of the line S. At the same time, an entire route is detected via a three-dimensional optimum space based on the minimum general cost functions (d1, d2). In step 76, the motion vector that is acquired by the DP method is assigned to the pixels of the line S. The pixels are sorted for the objects after their movements are estimated, and the motion vector is assigned to the objects.
