Title:
CALENDER APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007216635
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To suppress a floating phenomenon at the diagonal portion of a rubber coated sheet in calender initial operation.

At the upstream side of a calender 22 that coats unvulcanized rubber 26, there is arranged brake rolls 20 that sandwich steel cords 12 and near the upstream side of the brake rolls 20, there is arranged a cord revolution control apparatus 18 for the steel cords 12 to be wound round a plurality of the rolls 24 and given with bend. When being transferred while being sandwiched, the steel cords 12 before passing the brake rolls 20 are applied with forces to rotate around the twist, and after having passed these rolls, they are subject to forces of the direction of tightening the twist. In the initial operation of the calender, when the revolution of the steel cords 12 in the downstream side of the brake rolls 20 is suppressed by the cords revolution controlling apparatus 18, an increase in the force of the tightening direction which is generated on the steel cord 12 after their passing through the brake rolls 20 is suppressed and the floating phenomenon at the diagonal portion of the rubber coated sheet 28 is restrained.
