Title:
CALIBRATING AND MEASURING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05256602
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain calibrating or measuring apparatus constituted as a ball bar or an electronic dial gage.

CONSTITUTION: The ball bar for calibrating a machine tool or a coordinate measuring unit has a transducer unit 30 for enclosing a displacement type transducer to measure the axial displacement of an accurate ball 28. The ball 28 is pivotally disposed on the spindle of a machine, and driven along the circular route around a ball 22 mounted on the table 10 of the machine at the other end of the bar in the case of calibrating. The bar is formed in a modular structure, and has elements such as a unit 30, an extension bar 40 and magnetic sockets 24, 29. A support unit 14 and a magnetic clamp 16 are connected to one another via screws 18, 42, 44. Thus, to be, for example, used as an electronic dial gage, the unit 30 can be connected to other constituent.
