Title:
CALIBRATION OF RATE SENSOR FOR VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01148908
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize a method for obtaining an accurate azimuth angle by removing an erroneous component, by holding the output of a rate sensor during the stoppage of a vehicle as a calibration value and calibrating the output of the rate sensor when it is detected that the vehicle is running. CONSTITUTION:A rate sensor 11 outputs the directional change of a vehicle as an electric signal and a car speed sensor 12 outputs the pulse corresponding to the speed of the vehicle. The respective outputs of the sensors 11, 12 are inputted to an operational processing part 13 and the presence of the stoppage of the vehicle is detected by the output of the sensor 12. When it is detected that the vehicle is during stoppage, the output of the sensor 11 is held as a calibration value and, when it is detected that the vehicle is running, the calibration value is added or subtracted with respect to the output of the sensor 11 and the calculation result is integrated. The initial azimuth angle inputted from an operation part 14 is added to the integration result to display an azimuth angle on the display part 15. By this method, the unstable element inherent to the rate sensor is removed and the accuracy of an azimuth angle can be enhanced.
