A caliper body according to the present invention comprises: a recess 75 in which an ear portion of a brake pad of a disc brake is inserted; a pair of recess grooves 90, 90A formed on an opening between a mounting upper face and mounting lower face of the recess 75 in a radial direction of a rotor; first and second support pieces opposed to each other; an almost U-sectioned clip insertion part 20 comprising a coupling piece for coupling the first and second support pieces and fitted with the recess; and a protection clip 10 of a torque receiving part having a first detachment-prevention claw 40 that is provided on the first support piece side and can be fitted with one of the pair of recess grooves, and a second detachment-prevention claw 50 that is provided on the second support piece side and can be fitted with other recess groove.
