Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily recognize the actual image of a calligraphic style which becomes the object of selection designation on a calligraphic style selecting picture by displaying the pattern image of the calligraphic style indicated by a selector which becomes the object of the designation of a calligraphic style selection designating means on the calligraphic style selecting picture.

CONSTITUTION: A CPU 10 first develops the displaying image of an initial picture for selecting calligraphic style in a RAM 20 for display through a display controller 19 and causes a display 18 to display the developed image on its screen. When an instruction is inputted through a cursor key, the CPU 10 moves a cursor which indicated that is the object of the selection designation of a user to the next selector on a calligraphic style selecting picture in the direction designated by the user with the cursor. Then the CPU 10 changeovers the calligraphic style name displayed in a calligraphic style name displaying area on the calligraphic style selecting picture to the name of the calligraphic style corresponding to the selector indicated by the cursor and at the same time, changeovers the calligraphic style image displayed in a calligraphic style image displaying area to the image of the calligraphic style corresponding to the selector indicated by the cursor. Therefore, the user can clearly confirm visually whether or not the calligraphic style he intends to select is the desired one.
