To perform individual authentication without placing any mental burden on an ordering side by performing the authentication without registering feature data regarding privacy on an order reception side.
In a memory module 15 which can freely be attached to and detached from a portable telephone 14 that a user 11 owns, a user's voice is recorded as speech dictionary data by using a speech data recorder 19 of the portable telephone company 13. Then the memory module in which the speech dictionary data are recorded is mounted on the portable telephone. In this state, when a server 17 of a mail order company is called for ordering by using the portable telephone, the server sends an authentication request command to the portable telephone, which compares a speech picked up by a microphone with the speech dictionary data in the memory module to calculate the distance between it and extracted feature data and compares the calculated distance with a threshold to perform individual authentication. The authentication result is sent to the server.
