PURPOSE: To easily search for target telephone directory data with fixed telephone directory data and variable telephone directory data among which the latest used telephone directory data can automatically be rearranged in order as to the calling device for telephone, FAX, etc., which is stored with the telephone directory data and utilizes the telephone directory data.

CONSTITUTION: The telephone directory data which are inputted from a keyboard 11 are stored in a storage part 14 and displayed on a display part 16. At this time, the telephone directory data in the fixed telephone directory data part of the storage part 14 are displayed first on the display part 16 and then telephone directory data which are high in frequency of use among the telephone directory data in the variable telephone directory data part are displayed. The target telephone directory data is searched for among the displayed variable telephone directory data and a communication device 18 is controlled with a calling command to make a call. After the calling, the corresponding telephone data in the variable telephone directory data part are automatically rearranged in the order of the latest use according to use order information.
