Title:
CAM CHAIN TUNNEL STRUCTURE OF FOUR CYCLE ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3658387
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight and to improve a noise insulating effect by improving rigidity of a peripheral wall of a cam chain tunnel without increasing thickness of the peripheral wall in a four cycle engine.
SOLUTION: In this structure, the cam chain tunnel 6 is formed on one end side of a crank axial center direction of a cylinder structural member such as a cylinder block 2, etc. A projecting line rib 41 extending in a chain tunnel width direction is formed to cross with a cylinder center line C in the view of the crank axial center direction on an internal surface 6b of the cam chain tunnel 6. A tunnel external wall 30 to cover a side opposite to a cylinder bore side of the cam chain tunnel 6 is swelled in a curved shape to be projected to the outside of the tunnel. An insertion hole 33 for a fastening bolt is formed within thickness of the external wall 30.
