This cam device has a swing cam travel positioning means 13 capable of positioning a position of travel of the swing center CL3 of the swing cam 3, the multiple disc electromagnetic brake 25 for holding the position CL3 of the swing center of the swing cam 3 whose travel is positioned by the swing cam travel positioning means 13, and an electromagnetic brake plate separation means 51 for relatively separating a plate of an electromagnetic brake from a magnetic attraction face being a face to which the plate of the electromagnetic brake 25 is attracted.
