Abstract:
To reduce the rotating resistance of a radial needle bearing 7c supporting a tappet roller 6 on a support shaft 5 without increasing the thickness dimension of the tappet roller 6.
This cam follower device comprises a radial needle bearing 7c with a cage 10b. Column parts 12 and 12 forming the cage 10b are disposed on the inner diameter sides of the pitch circles of the needles 8 and 8 of the needle bearing. The needles 8 and 8 adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction are moved close to each other so that the number of the needles 8 and 8 can be secured. Accordingly, even if the wall thickness of the tappet roller 6 is not increased, a large bending stress does not act on the tappet roller 6.
