To provide a cam follower 2 with a supporting shaft 4 having improved anti-come-off force and slip torque and improved supporting rigidity, the supporting shaft 4 being inserted at both ends into shaft holes 7a, 8a of a pair of opposite side walls 7, 8.
On each of peripheral wall faces which form the shaft holes 7a, 8a of the pair of opposite side walls 7, 8, respectively, a region G2 by which a fracture surface is formed is set to be minimized, 20% or less of a plate thickness T of each of the opposite side walls 7, 8. Thus, a region G1 by which a shearing surface is formed is maximized, and so a contact area is increased between each of the peripheral wall faces which form the shaft holes 7a, 8a of the opposite side walls 7, 8 and each of the outer peripheral faces at both ends of the supporting shaft 4. No such conventional need exists as giving after-machining to the peripheral wall faces which form the shaft holes 7a, 8a of the opposite side walls 7, 8.
