Abstract:

To provide a cam follower for a rocker arm easily supplying lubrication oil to the inside of a bearing for rotatably supporting an outer ring.

The cam follower for a rocker arm include a cylindrical outer ring 11 with its outer peripheral surface contacting a cam, a support shaft 6 for supporting the outer ring 11, a plurality of rollers 12 arranged in a circular area between the support shaft 6 and the outer ring 11, and side plates 16 which are a ring-shaped disks penetrated by the support shaft 6, faces to end surfaces 15 of the rollers 12, and has an outer diameter Ds smaller than an inner diameter Dr of the outer ring 11. The side plates 16 are respectively arranged on the both sides of the rollers 12. Lk denotes the shaft length of the roller 12, Lr denotes the shaft length of the outer ring 11, and t denotes the thickness of the side plate 16, which satisfies LrLk+2t.
