Abstract:

To provide a cam follower, a valve lifter, and cam follower mechanism for an internal combustion engine which are easily manufactured, without increasing the cost in plastic working.

In this, cam follower 25, although the diameters of a center part 25b and end parts 25c, 25d are different from each other, heights h11 to h13 for each of maximum distance positions D11 to D13 are made to match with each other. In the case where the cam follower 25 are manufactured by mans of plastic working such as mold casting, the difference in depth between mold sides is not generated. Accordingly, a metallic material is filled fully into a mold by plastic fluid motion, even if press pressure is not increased by improving durability of press and the mold. Since the difference between thickness of products for posing the problem in spring back at the time of plastic working is not generated, accurate shape easily can be formed by the plastic working, where the plastic working has the advantage of working on a guide groove in a cam follower holder of the valve lifter.
