Abstract:
To provide a cam follower which can reduce rotational friction, improve rotational speed, be used over a long period of time, and reduce running cost.
The cam follower 1 includes: a hollow rolling element 2; a shaft body 4, which is inserted in the hollow part of the rolling elements 2 with a gap 3 and one end part 21 of which protrudes from the rolling elements 2; a static pressure gas bearing 7, which is disposed between the rolling elements 2 and the shaft body 4 so as to support the rolling elements 2 by a static pressure gas in the radial direction; and a magnetic bearing 9, which supports the rolling elements 2 by the magnetic force in the thrust direction.
