Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate the formation of a cam-shaft bearing part and the assembly of an internal combustion engine by forming an opening part in a cylinder block, and housedly fixing a cam-shaft bearing part formed separately from the cylinder block to this opening part. CONSTITUTION:In a cylinder block 1, an opening part 3 and a space 4 are formed beneath the lower part of a push rod 2 which is provided so as to be vertically movable, and a cam-shaft bearing part 10 formed separately is housed in this space 4. And the cam-shaft bearing part 10 supporting a cam shaft 5 connects a plurality of cam-shaft bearings, and a cam-shaft bearing part solid cover 12 formed integrally from the same material as the bearing member is positioned by knock pins 15 and then is fixed to the cylinder block 1 by means of bolts 13. Further, in the cover 12, a lubricating oil passage 14 is provided, enabling the supply of lubricating oil to the bearing part 10 according as the engine is operated.
