Title:
CAM SHAFT DEVICE OF INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59192809
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To heighten the bonding rigidity between a cam and a cam shaft by a method wherein a communicating hole is formed at the center of the axis of the ceramic cam and at the same time a plurality of small holes are provided around said hole and then light alloy metal is cast in the communicating hole and the small holes. CONSTITUTION:A communicating hole 7a is formed at the center of the axis of a ceramic cam 7 and at the same time a plurality of small curvilinearly elongated circular holes 7b, the diameter of which is smaller than that of the communicating hole 7a, is radially formed around the communicating hole 7a. The ceramic cam 7 is integrally formed together with a light alloy cam shaft 4 by casing light alloy metal as base material in the communicating hole 7a and the small holes 7b. As a result, the adherence and consequent bonding rigidity between ceramic and light alloy metal are heightened by making good use of relatively large thermal expansion and contraction of the light alloy metal.
