Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve resistance to wear and productivity and lighten the weight in such a way of integrating a cam shaft by a cam part which has been prefabricated and a shaft part which has been cast threrein and unified. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 10 can be obtained in such a way that in order to unify a shaft part 16 to a cam part 14 which has been separately manufactured by pre-casting or sintering and cast therein, a cam part 16 in the number to which the number of air cylinders in the engine has been suited are arranged at the determined position of a mold which has the same inside shape as the outer shape of the cam shaft 10, then a melting metal is infused into the mold and solidified, subsequently it is taken out of the mold and the desired machining is applied to a support shaft part 18, a bearing part 20, etc.
