Abstract:
PURPOSE:To eliminate the conventional crankshaft, connecting rod, etc. and reduce the number of troubles in a reciprocating engine by operating a rockable bearing engaged with an eccentric rotor on a rectilinear shaft as a cam to thereby impart a rectilinear motion to a poston. CONSTITUTION:Recess grooves 2, 2 are formed on the left and right ends of a connecting box 1, the rods 7, 7 of pistons 6, 6, respectively disposed in horizontally opposed manner are inserted into the grooves 2, 2, respectively, and connected by bolts 3, 3, etc. Elliptical openings 5, 5 are formed on both side surfaces of the box 1, a shaft 15 is inserted into the openings 5, 5, respectively, and balance weights 13, 14 are mounted on the shaft 15. Rockable bearings 10 are engaged tightly with an eccentric rotor 11 between the recess rolling surfaces 4 and 4 facing oppositely at the left and right sides in the box 1. When the shaft 15 is rotated by a motor or the like, the rocking motion of the bearings 10 operates as a cam to thereby move the pistons 6, 6 rectilinearly.
