Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cam for a valve train of an internal combustion engine, for suppressing energy loss due to vibration and friction resistance against a tappet.SOLUTION: A cam 1, which is provided for a valve train to drive a valve of an internal combustion engine, includes a base 11, a holder 12, and a spherical member 13. The base 11 is provided on a camshaft 2 of the valve train. The holder 12 is assembled on the base 11 to form a valve lift section. The spherical member 13 is held by the holder 12 while being exposed in part from a lift part (cam face) B in the valve lift section, and its center is located inside of the lift part B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
