To provide a camera body which can functionalize various types of optical systems appropriately in a lens interchangeable type camera system.
The camera body comprises: a camera body side mounting part to/from which any one of an adaptor for relaying an interchangeable lens and the interchangeable lens is attachable/detachable; and a camera control part for, to any one of the interchangeable lens and the adaptor attached to the camera body side mounting part, transmitting a common control command as a control command for controlling the driving speed of an optical member provided in an optical system of the interchangeable lens, regardless of the type of the interchangeable lens. The control command includes a first control command for controlling the driving speed of the optical member to a first driving speed, a second control command for controlling the driving speed of the optical member to a second driving speed lower than the first driving speed, and a third control command for controlling the driving speed of the optical member to a driving speed set by any one of the attached adaptor and the attached interchangeable lens.
