This camera data transfer device includes: an image pickup means 201 for creating and outputting image data; and a camera interface means 202 having a first retaining means 205 for retaining the image data of the previous frame, a second retaining means 206 for retaining the current image data, a comparison means 208 for comparing the data retained in the first and second retaining means, and a bus interface means 209 for controlling the input and output of the data between buses. The camera data transfer device transfers the data via the bus interface means to the frame memory of a display means 214 connected to the bus 211, to display the data. If comparison by the comparison means indicates that the data retained by the first retaining means does not match the data retained by the second retaining means, only the portions of the data that do not match are transferred to the frame memory of the display means, and the corresponding portion of the data in the first retaining means is rewritten.
