To provide a camera device that reliably detects a state of no-finder photo and photograph an image in which the tilt of a subject is not cared.

On an outline surface opposed to the surface on which a photographing lens is provided, a camera has a display unit 27 for subject viewing of a type in which an observation is performed separately by a predetermined distance from eyes of a photographer. The camera includes: a no-finder decision unit 11d which determines a no-finder state where the photographing lens is opened, it is detected to be a state where the display unit 27 is closed with at least by either a body of the photographer or any tool that the photographer has, and a state being mounted on the body of the photographer is shown; and a recording control unit 11e which records an image, which is photographed while being determined as the no-finder state, as a circular image obtained by circularly trimming away part of a screen about the image.
