Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proper camera exposure even if a position and an angle of a camera change.SOLUTION: When the whole object is in an image obtained by an on-vehicle camera 10, an image area is set in the image, and when not in the image, positions of parts constituting the object are detected, the whole region of the object is estimated from positions and an image area corresponding to the whole region is set. Brightness of each pixel constituting the set image area is obtained, an evaluation value for determining whether or not an image area is an incompatible area estimated that image processing cannot be performed due to excess and deficiency of an exposure on the basis of the obtained brightness, is calculated, and it is determined whether the image area is the incompatible area or not on the basis of the evaluation value. When it is determined that one of image areas is incompatible, an exposure control parameter of the next image acquisition is given to the on-vehicle camera 10 on the basis of the evaluation value.
