To provide a camera film feeding device rewinding the film to the preset position prior to film delivery operation when a film cartridge is charged, an easier charging operation of which always can smoothly and reliably locate the film in the cartridge to the preset position in the camera without loading a film feeding mechanism, etc.

The device is equipped with a DX detecting means 35 using a DX detecting member 12 directly connecting to a DX cord 2b installed in a film cartridge 2 to detect DX data of the film, and a film determination means 32 determining whether a film lies between an outer circumference of the film cartridge and the DX detecting member or not. When the film determination means determines that no film lies between the film cartridge and the DX detecting member during rewinding operation after charging of the film cartridge, the device reduces a driving force for the film feeding in rewinding operation.
