The camera is provided with a setup unit, a sensor unit, a storage unit, a retrieval unit, a parameter determination unit, and a photographing unit. The setup unit sets functions of a camera. The sensor unit detects a state of a subject or of the camera. The storage unit stores combinations of function setting due to the setup unit and detection results of the sensor unit while previously classifying them for each class of the subject. The retrieval unit retrieves from the storage unit a combination corresponding to function setting and sensor information during photographing. The parameter determination unit determines a photographing parameter on the basis of the retrieved combination. The photographing unit performs photographing in accordance with the determined photographing parameter.
