The camera has a touch sensor 14 which is provided on the front of a lens barrel 13 including a photographic lens 12 and freely elongated and contracted and detects touch by an body. The camera is equipped with a system control circuit 30 that judges whether or not the body is within a photographing range based on a result of detection about the body by the touch sensor 14 and zoom magnification decided according to the position of the lens barrel 13, and performs control (for example, control for inhibiting photography) to prevent the body from being included in a photographic image obtained by photography in accordance with a photographing instruction when judging that the body is within the photographing range.
