To provide a camera shake correcting device which does not require power for holding a correction lens at a neutral position, whose load during driving is small and which prevents the diameter of a lens barrel from getting larger, and optical equipment equipped therewith.
An optical system 12 in a lens barrel 13 is provided with a correction lens for correcting camera shake 12d made movable in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis. The correction lens 12d is formed of a transparent magnetic body, and a magnetic transparent plate 38 is arranged to be opposed to the correction lens 12d in the optical axis direction of the correction lens 12d. The respective opposed surfaces of the magnetic transparent plate 38 and the correction lens 12d are magnetically polarized to generate attractive force. The magnetic transparent plate 38 holds the correction lens 12d by magnetic force so that the optical axis of the correction lens 12d may be aligned with the main optical axis L of the optical system. The correction lens 12d can be held by arranging a magnet vertically above or vertically below the correction lens 12 instead of the magnetic transparent plate 38.
