PURPOSE: To enable setting to an initial position with a minimum centering operation, to reduce power consumption and to secure quick photographing performance by providing a changing means for setting drive to the initial position for correcting camera shaking by a driving means for correcting the camera shaking.
CONSTITUTION: An operating state judging part 1 judging the operating state of a photographing device (camera) capable of correcting its shake judges the operating state of the camera, to judge the operating state of a camera-shake correcting device and the camera itself unrelated to the camera-shake correction. The result of the judgment by the operating state judging part 1 is transmitted to an initial position setting operation method changing part 2, to execute the initial position setting operation of the camera-shake correcting device based on the result of the judgment. In other words, an initial position setting operation method is selected by the judgment based on the camera-shake correcting device and the operating state of the camera. Then, a camera-shake correcting device driving part 3 executes the initial position setting operation (centering operation) of the camera-shake correcting device in accordance with the instruction of the initial position setting operation method changing part 2.
