The lens barrel includes a lens control part (200) that transmits information about a photographable range of an optical system (210) to the camera body and restricts a drive range of a movable lens by a drive part on the basis of information about the drive range of the movable lens according to a photographic mode, which has received from the camera body. The camera body includes a camera control part (100) that determines the drive range of the movable lens on the basis of the information about the photographic mode and the photographable range of the optical system received from the lens barrel, and transmits the information about the drive range of the movable lens to the lens barrel.
