A camera with a panorama photographing function which obtains a panorama image by joining a plurality of images consecutively obtained in a series of photographing comprises: pre-photographing photometric means, exposure average value calculating means, and exposure control means. The pre-photographing photometric means performs continuous photometry within a photographing range while panning the camera. The exposure average value calculating means calculates an exposure average value within the photographing range on the basis of photometry output from the pre-photographing photometric means. The exposure control means reflects the exposure average value on exposure conditions for panorama main photographing, and exerts exposure control in the panorama main photographing.
