To facilitate identification meaning for which photographing purpose a film cartridge loaded is used by reading title information magnetically recorded on film and displaying the title information read.
In the case of discriminating that it is the film cartridge exposed halfway, the winding of the film is started by rotating a feeding motor 2b in the winding direction of the film through a film feeding circuit 2a so that feeding to set the top position of an unexposed frame at an aperture position is started. Then, it is discriminated whether the magnetic information exists on the film or not from the output of a magnetic reading circuit 6 while feeding the film. In the case that the magnetic information exists, the title information included in the magnetic information is outputted to a title information display circuit 7a and is displayed on an LCD 7b. Thus, a title at the time of photographing by using the film cartridge is displayed only by loading the film cartridge exposed halfway at the camera.
