To eliminate the problem where many blurred photographs due to camera shake are taken in a camera, equipped with a self-photographing mode in which a photographer photographs himself, because photographing is performed by stretching one hand and depressing a release button for performing release action in the self-photographing, mode through photographing is ordinarily performed by many right-handed photographers while holding the camera with a left hand and photographing is normally performed, while putting his arms tightly on the side in camera holding posture, so that camera shake hardly occurs.

This camera is provided with a photographing mode revising means and a shutter release delaying means for performing photographing operation, when prescribed time elapses after depressing a shutter release button and is automatically set to a shutter release delaying mode, to prevent the camera shake when the photographer sets the mode in which the photographer photographs himself.
