To provide a camera which performs photographing operation after auto-focusing and photometry without fail as a camera which uses a storage type photoelectric converting element to perform the auto-focusing and the photometry.
The camera which photodetects subject light by a CCD sensor as the storage type photoelectric converting element and performs photometry and range finding according to the output of the photoelectric converting element is characterized by that its release permission state S6 showing whether shutter release operation becomes an inhibited state when a full-press switch is pressed and changes from the inhibited state to a permitted state (H) when a film feed state S2 becomes a non-feed state (L) after film feed is completed and further a storage state S4 becomes an in-non-storage state (L) after CCD storing operation by the CCD sensor is completed. Consequently, the photographing operation is not carried out even if the full-press switch is turned on from release time t1 to the time t7 when the film feed and CCD storage are completed.
