To provide a camera capable of taking a good picture by avoiding a photographing condition under which the picture is deteriorated.
The camera is equipped with photographic optical systems (12 and 300), an imaging means (27) picking up a subject image through the photographic optical systems, a photometry means (121) measuring the luminance of a subject, and a decision means (150) deciding the combination of a diaphragm value and shutter speed according to a program diagram so as to correspond to the luminance of the subject. The decision means changes the program diagram based on the characteristic of the imaging means and the characteristic of the photographic optical system and deciding the combination of the diaphragm value and the shutter speed according to the changed program diagram.
