To provide a camera capable of accurately detecting an attachment state of a tripod.
A tripod hole 16, to which an attachment screw 21 of a tripod 20 can be attached, is provided in a bottom of a camera main body 3. A first detection switch 22 is disposed in the vicinity of an entrance in the tripod hole 16, and a second detection switch 23 is disposed in an end part deeper than the first detection switch 22, in a depth direction of a side face in the tripod hole 16. the first and second detection switches 22 and 23 are turned on/off in accordance with attachment to the tripod 16 of the attachment screw 21. On/off states of the first and second detection switches 22 and 23 are detected, whereby the attachment state of the tripod 20 can accurately be detected.
