A camera comprises an imaging device 8 including a first pixel, which outputs a focal point detection signal on the basis of light through a photographing lens 3, and a second pixel which outputs an image signal on the basis of light through the photographing lens 3; a half mirror 6, which is freely movable between a first position set in an optical path from the photographing lens 3 to the imaging device 8 and a second position set at a position evacuated from the optical path, for dividing the light through the photographing lens 3 into reflection light and transmission light when located at the first position; and a control means 20 for performing photometry on the basis of the image signal and performing focal point detection on the basis of the focal point detection signal when the half mirror 6 is located at the first position.
