Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate pre-irradiation when no red-eye prevention is required and to prevent a battery from being wastefully consumed.
CONSTITUTION: This camera is provided with a main flash action command means 102 commanding the action of a main flash device 101 for illuminating an object, a brightness information output means 103 outputting brightness information corresponding to the brightness of photographing environment, a red-eye effect decision means 104 deciding the brightness information as a red-eye generation condition and outputting a red-eye decision signal when at least the brightness information outputted by the output means 103 is the information showing that the pupil of the eye of a human being becomes large enough to cause the red-eye effect, a red-eye prevention means 15 irradiating an object with light for contracting the pupil of the human being and a control means 106 actuating the prevention means 105 in the case that the action command of the flash device 101 and the red-eye decision signal are outputted when release operation is executed, actuating the flash device 101 after prescribed time elapses, restraining the prevention means 105 from being actuated and actuating the flash device 101 in the case that only the action command of the flash device 101 is outputted when the release operation is executed.
