Abstract:
PURPOSE: To confirm picture by providing a multilevel signal also for a monitor part.
CONSTITUTION: An object picture formed through an optical system is converted to an electrical video signal by a solid-state image pickup element such as CCD, etc., to be outputted to an image pickup process part 2 and provided for an A/D converter 3 after a processing such as γ correction, etc. The output of the converter 3 is provided as writing data to a frame memory 4, which is obtained by converting a signal from the process part 2 to a digital signal. Video data of the memory 4 is recorded as it is on a recording medium 7 such as an IC memory card, etc., through the terminal 6A of a switch 6. At the time of intending to increase the number of frame sheets to record in the medium 7, compressed data obtained by executing a compression processing to video data read from the memory 4 by a compression/extension part 5 is recorded in the medium 7 through a terminal 6B. Thus, the picture of a multilevel image on a monitor can be confirmed.
