To eliminate a trouble and save a time to obtain a hard copy by obtaining the hard copy with high image quality without the provision of a number of recording media.
A digital still camera 9 picks up an image. The camera 9 has a memory for storing image pickup frames and a memory for transfer image data and transfers automatically the picked-up image data to a laboratory shop. The laboratory shop stores image data into an image recording file 31 based on identification data. Then based on the image data and print command data, the data are digitally printed out. Since the image data are transferred for each image pickup, a number of frames are picked up without limit without taking care about a storage capacity. Since the storage capacity is enough for two frames, the number of image data by one frame is increased accordingly and then high image quality is attained. Since data are transferred, a hard copy is quickly obtained.
