To lighten actuation load at the time of performing the collapsing operation of a lens barrel and to surely move the lens barrel to a collapsible position by moving a strobe light emitting part to a housing position after the lens barrel completes the movement to the collapsible position.
When the lens barrel 1 is at the collapsible position and a barrier 3 is totally closed, a locking means (locking member 21) is released interlocked with a releasing means (the projection part 3b of the barrier 3) formed on the barrier 3, a motive power switching means (a planet lever 19 and a planet gear 20) is switched from a 1st position to a 2nd position so as to transmit the driving force of a lens barrel motor 15 to a stroboscope driving side. Since the housing operation of the strobe light emitting part 6 is performed after completing the collapsing operation of the lens barrel 1, the actuation load at the time of performing the collapsing operation of the lens barrel 1 is lightened. Furthermore, since the motive power switching means is at a position where the driving force is transmitted to the stroboscope driving side after completing the housing operation of the light emitting part 6, the backlash of the light emitting part 6 is absorbed.
