Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a light weight camshaft by inserting a FRP camshaft of same polygonal shape with a through-hole and having a notched to into the polygonal through-hole of a cam then injection molding a fixed FRP member in a space at said notched portion in the through-hole. CONSTITUTION:A FRP camshaft 2 having same polygonal shape with a through- hole and a notched top is inserted into the polygonal through-hole of a cam 1 comprising the cams 1a, 1b and a shaft section 6. A FRP fixing member 5 made of same material with the camshaft 2 is injection molded into a gap formed in the camshaft 2 having notched top and in the through-hole. The fixed member 5 and the camshaft 2 are jointed reliably because they are made of same material.
