Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine camshaft which is high in strength and light.
SOLUTION: A camshaft body 3 is equipped with a plurality of camshaft journal bearings 7a-7g positioned with mutual separation made along its longitudinal direction and a hollow inner part 21 extending axially. The hollow inner part 21 communicates with an axial passage 23 smaller in diameter than it. The camshaft journal bearings 7a, 7g located at both the end sides of the camshaft body 3 are severally provided with lubricant carrying grooves 13a, 13b, and moreover flow passages 15a, 15b to communicate these groove 13a, 13b with the hollow inner part 21 are formed.
