Title:
CAMSHAFT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3117518
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce chips generated in cam assembling by forming a pair of inward protruding parts to abut on protruding bars formed on the outer surface of the shaft main body to plastic-deform the protruding bars on to the circular attaching hole formed in the cam and a protruding part to cut protrusions.
CONSTITUTION: Radially protruding bars 3 are formed on the outer surface of a part, to which a cam 2 (20) is attached, of the cylindrical shaft main body 1 and the cam 20 is fit and fixed to the part of protruding bars 3. An attaching hole 40 for the cam 20 is formed in an almost complete circle. Two protruding parts 41 facing each other to be crimped to the protruding bars 3 on the shaft main body 1 are formed. Four rectangular protruding parts 42 are formed at positions neighboring the protruding parts 41. When the cam shaft is assembled by press-fitting the main body 1 and the cam 20, the protruding bars 3 are plastic-deformed by the protruding parts 41 of the attaching hole 40 to fix the cam 20 to by the plastic deformation and cut the protruding bars 3 by the protruding parts 42 to form grooves which are to be engaged with the protruding parts 42.
