To provide a lamp device more safely and economically improved in aesthetic effect than a conventional lamp-lighting method with a position of flame kept immovable.

A candle 11 is housed in a cylinder 12 of an incombustible material, and pushed up from below by a force of a spring 13. A top lid 14 is provided with a brim so that an upper opening is formed slightly smaller than the diameter of a candle to prevent the candle from slipping out. When the candle is lit by this device, the candle goes up by an amount that wax is melted and combusted, so that the flame is always at a constant position not moving as the wax is consumed. Therefore, a range of flame security, protection, and decoration can be drastically narrowed. Molten wax is prevented from flowing down as it is surrounded by the brim, and the candle holder is clean, economical, and easy to be cleaned since the wax does not drip at least by a breeze. If an opaque cylinder is used, the candle is not seen, therefore, even if it is lit till the last moment, there is no change in appearance from the beginning. When the candle is burned out, a candlestick strikes the brim of the top lid so as not to go up further, and only the molten wax travels to the core to be combusted again, but the supply shortage of oxygen puts it off, resulting in safety.
