To erect a candlestand surely with excellent appearance, and to prevent a fire by a lateral turning by a method wherein a basin is installed at the center of the candlestand for a gravestone, columnar candlesticks are bored to the left and the right, and communicated with the basin and filled with water, and lit candles are charged into the candlesticks.
The candlestand 1 for the gravestone is worked of stone in an oblong and approximately rectangular shape, and a basin 3, in which an opening shape is formed in an approximately square shape and which is cut in a recessed shape, is formed at the central section of a top face and columnar candlesticks 2, 2 in the vertical direction at the left-right side end sections of the basin 2. The candlesticks 2 are formed in depth that the front end of a normally used candle 7 is projected from the top face of the candlestand 1, and communicated with the left-right end sections of the base of the basin 3 by obliquely formed flow holes 4, and drain holes 8 and discharge openings 5 are formed to the lower side faces of the candlestands 2, and closed with plugs 6. When the lit candles 7 are charged into the candlesticks 2 and water is injected into the basin 3, the lit front end sections of the candles 7 are projected from the candlestand 1, and the candles 7 are floated, and floated continuously until lighting is completed. Cinders deposited into the candlesticks 2 and wax, etc., are discharged together with infection water from the discharge openings 5.
