To provide a canned pump in which water retained in a can for a countermeasure against freezing can be conditionally discharged and a predetermined amount of water is normally and surely left in the can so as to prevent the generation of powdery fixed objects and prevent the conglutination of a narrow gap between a rotor and the can.
The canned pump 1 comprises: the can 4 housing a large part of a rotational shaft 10 and a rotor 13 of a drive motor; a back casing 3 closing the end of the can 4; a pump casing 5 fixed with the back casing 3; an impeller 7 arranged in a pump chamber 2 of a space between the back casing 3 and the pump casing 5, and fixed to the rotational shaft 10, wherein the rotational shaft 10 is in a horizontal attitude. All of or a part of at least one communication hole 16 is formed at an intermediate stage of the back casing 3, a part below the intermediate stage out of the back casing 3 is formed to be a watertight wall.
