To provide an X-ray tube which has an improved bearing performance and an operation life, and of which a heat performance is improved.
An imaging tube assembly (11) for a computer tomography (CT) system (10) includes an insert (60) having a vacuum chamber (72). An anode (58) is arranged in the vacuum chamber (72), and rotated on a shaft (66) via one or a plurality of bearings (70). In one embodiment, a seal (52) is arranged between the insert (60) and the shaft (66). The seal (52) prevents that gas (80) flows into in the vacuum chamber (72). In another embodiment, a pressure transferring chamber (104) is connected to an insert (60') and a shaft (66'). The pressure transition chamber (104) has a related intermediate flow pressure between the inner part flow pressure of the vacuum chamber (104) and the outer part flow pressure of the insert (60').
