To provide a cap for a container that even when impact is applied on an upper lid thereof, can effectively prevent occurence of unintentional damage such as separation of a separate portion of an inner plug from a main body thereof.
A cap 1 for a container comprises: an inner plug 2 that forms an enclosed space for encapsulating contents together with a container body 50 and has a separate portion 4 for forming an opening OP in the enclosed space; and an upper lid 3 that has a lateral face wall 3a covering a lateral face of the inner plug 2 and an upper end wall 3b which is connected to the lateral face wall 3a and covers the opening OP of the inner plug 2. The upper lid 3 has dents 3i and 3j as impact absorption portions on at least one part of a corner portion 3g which connects the lateral face wall 3a to the upper end wall 3b.
