To provide a cap for an injection needle which can be placed on the injection needle after usage safely and reliably.
The cap 10 for protecting an injection needle 2 consists of a grip part 15, and a notched part 12 formed at the edge 14 of the opening surface of a cap main body 11. When the cap 10 is fitted to the injection needle 2, the grip part 15 is pinched and the injection needle is put into the notched part 12. The tip 2a of the injection needle 2 is abutted onto the inner surface of the cap main body 11. Then the injection needle 2 is guided into the cap 10 by sliding as it is to the depth of the cap 10 along the inner surface. Accordingly, the tip of the injection needle 2 is easily guided into the cap, so as to safely and reliably fit the cap 10.
